Breakdown Printing
www.committedtocloth.com

Essentially breakdown printing involves applying thick dye paints or print paste directly on to the back of the screen, which is left to dry. It is then printed off with more dye paint or print paste, or a combination thereof. This fresh print ‘media’ (e.g. the dye) gradually dissolves the dried-on material on the screen – breaking it down as an ever-changing array of colours, marks, textures and distressed, organic and disintegrating effects is printed off. Clear print paste and discharge media can also be used, as also outlined in the book. 32 pages of inspiration, clear instructions, recipes and over 66 colour images.
