Description: How to prepare, import and transfer an image with Embird embroidery software. Studies of different stitches, densities, colors. Transfer for any specific embroidery machine.
Fees: 450$ per day (instructor)
Facilities: One PC computer per student, scanner, digital projector. Embird software provided by leader. Students should bring their own images. Photoshop software would also be used if available.
Description: Traditional millinery skills taught to hatmaking/textile/fashion students. Surface design elements included in most classes. Over 12 skill sets can be adapted to meet workshop needs. International instructor. Twelve years experience.

Facilities: Need sturdy tables, electrical outlets, running water, mirrors for most classes. Some classes require vacuum, portable basins, hair dryers, irons/boards. Require seating for a minimum of 5/max of 15.
Description: This workshop is a hands-on silk painting class. Students will experience the use of resists, silk and dye treatments. Silk Habotai scarves will be used as the creative surface.
Description: Enjoy 1-2 days (or more!)exploring the possibilities of felting. Felted figures, landscapes, vessels, animals, nuno, wet felting or needle felting.
Fees: $400 day+travel+expences
Facilities: For wet felting: large tables, chairs, water and sink access, not carpeted floor.
For needle felting: Tables with elbow room for all, chairs, eager students!
Description: Drawing and painting in free-motion machine embroidery. The sewing machine becomes your brush, thread and fabric become your paint for realistic or abstract wall hangings, wearables, quilts, or functional items.
Fees: $450. per day plus per diem
Facilities: Large table for each person, good light, sink, electricity, blackboard, projector and screen, ironing board. Each participant will bring their own machine and supplies.
Title: Color Forecasting for Fashion and Home Fashion
Techniques Taught:
Length: 6 hours or two 3 hour sessions
Description: Learn how to forecast color for surface design and industry including fashion, home fashion and craft. Learn color theory; explore aesthetics; mixing; product specific color; global color combinations and forecasting techniques.

Facilities: This workshop is hands-on. Tables or student desks with blackboard or cork board. Students are required to bring mixing equipment including brushes, gouache and paper to establish and use the color wheel.
Description: Exploring the fibers from their origins to development of knitted and woven fabrics. New fibers; dying, finishing, printing, embellishing; etc. Application of these fibers in fashion and home fashions and for the surface designer.
Fees: TBD; Fabric fee.
Facilities: Scissors and paper, table and chairs or student desks. Black board or corkboard.
